Job Summary
Receives all incoming calls, provides information regarding patients, hospital services, and events, and runs the internal and external beeper system. Handles all hospital codes, monitors and responds to alarm panels, and maintains key logs while keeping accurate records of all necessary calls and codes. Provides after-hours registration coverage and support to the Business Office, monitors the parking area video system, and alerts security when necessary. Works irregular hours on short notice in a stressful environment requiring quick thinking and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Associate's degree
- Switchboard experience
- Hospital environment experience
- Experience on a similar system
- Ability to think quickly
- Ability to respond to multiple requests for information
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Significant use of PC monitor
- Vision corrected to within normal limits
- Hearing corrected to within normal limits
- Close Vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
- Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
- Ability to hear calls
- Ability to hear instructions from physician/department staff/others
- Ability to adapt to a diversity of customers
- Weight lifting capability up to 10 pounds
- Ability to stand

Desired Qualifications
