Job Summary
Night-shift Switchboard Operator provides 24/7 telecommunications and emergency call support for a VA Medical Center and affiliated clinics. Responsibilities include answering calls, operating switchboard and paging systems, routing inquiries, responding to emergency calls and alarms, announcing emergency codes, maintaining call logs and incident records, assisting callers with outgoing calls, monitoring alarm systems, and using Outlook/Word/Excel for reporting, all while adhering to HIPAA and VA security requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating a switchboard or call-center is recommended
- Ability to handle emergency calls calmly and professionally
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel for reporting
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Familiarity with HIPAA and VA policies
- Ability to route calls and manage paging systems
