Job Summary
Operate Swiss turning center machines by setting up, loading bar stock, and running quality checks on finished parts. Perform equipment inspections, basic adjustments, and maintenance while producing parts within established specifications. Measure outputs with precision tools like calipers and micrometers, interpret blueprints, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Assist with housekeeping and communicate with office and engineering personnel. Requires 2nd shift hours from 2:30 pm to 11 pm, with training occurring on the 1st shift. Overtime opportunities are available.
Required Qualifications
- Must be familiar with G-code
- Must have Windows PC experience
- Must be safety oriented
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
- Must wear safety glasses
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to read blueprints and various measuring tools including calipers and micrometers
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation
- Ability to make decisions with intelligence, intuition, common sense
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and good basic math skills
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations
- Must work well independently and in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with operation of Swiss style turning machines a plus
- Familiarity with multi-axis Swiss style turning machine programming a plus
- Must be familiar with basic feed/speed rates and cutting tools
- Familiarity with CAM software a plus
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software a plus
- 3 to 5 years operator /operator experience a plus
- Completion of related Vocational Certificate or Associate Program a plus
