Swing Shift Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary
Support and maintain production equipment including waterjets, fiber lasers, bending machines, and CNCs while managing equipment programming and troubleshooting. Design manufacturing fixtures, optimize production flows, and automate processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Lead Design for Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across assigned product lines. Assist with design validation testing, prototype builds, and developing new manufacturing processes through research and vendor collaboration. Prepare product and process reports by analyzing trends and calculating labor and material costs.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing best practices, including Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience developing new manufacturing processes
- Experience with industrial automation tools such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and motion systems
- Experience designing tooling, jigs, and/or fixtures using SolidWorks
- Experience optimizing production processes
- Experience programming CNC equipment
- Experience with metal fabrication processes
- Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering degree or related field
- 1-5+ years related experience (or equivalent)
- Must have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings
- Ability to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, respiratory protective equipment with proper seal, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection & safety helmet
- Ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings
- Ability to communicate information so others can understand
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Must report to work reliably and with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Must already have the legal authorization to work in the US without requiring any employer sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing and modeling the following in SolidWorks: sheet metal, tube laser, and steel structures
- Hands-on building and fabricating
