Job Summary
Deliver face-to-face and phone crisis intervention, stabilization, and resolution services for individuals or families experiencing acute emotional distress or loss of behavioral control, at the individual’s home or in the community. Provide services to individuals with acute symptoms of mental illness presenting risk of harm to self or others for appropriate referral to the DCR. Maintain knowledge of Lewis County resources to refer individuals and/or families to resolving-crisis resources. Communicate follow-up actions with the on-coming crisis team; provide follow-up contact to involved individuals, families, and agencies. Assist facilitation of voluntary hospitalization and coordinate with DCR for involuntary placement as a collateral provider. Provide consultation, education, and liaison with law enforcement, school personnel, health staff, and other collateral agencies. Prepare for future licensure renewals related to the role (DEA, CPR/BLS, etc.). Ensure professional representation of the agency and adherence to policies and procedures while documenting in the computer network system.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of education or one year of experience in mental health or related field
- Washington State Department of Health Credential (Registered-AAC or Certified AAC)
- Ability to pass WA State Patrol background check (national background check may be required if not lived in WA for last 3 years)
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain driving record
- Ability to enter information into computer network system
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Capability to gain access to all types of buildings and residences
- Represent the agency positively and professionally
- Ability to maintain home telephone and address on file with HR
- Maintain knowledge of community resources for referrals
