Job Summary
Perform various jobs on the line, in the department, or facility as assigned to assist the supervisor, while maintaining established production levels. Adapt quickly to new positions, duties, and situations across all areas, and orient new employees through effective communication. Participate in team meetings and foster cohesiveness by identifying issues and reinforcing actions needed to achieve synergy. Maintain familiarity with company operating systems, including quality, security, and policies, while communicating improvement ideas. Operate pallet jacks and forklifts, and travel between facilities and farms to fill in for Driver Helpers as needed. Apply in person at the Siloam Springs, AR hiring center Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs to shoulder height
- Must be able to push or pull 1000 lbs
- Must be able to work in cool, wet, noisy environments with temperature extremes
- Must be able to work on feet for entire shift
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a company issued pallet jack and forklift license
- Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Must be able to read, write and perform basic math
- Must have the ability to make good decisions
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others and leadership team
- Must be able to work in the area from Siloam Springs, AR to Decatur, AR
- Must be available Monday between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm
- Must be available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm
- Must be able to work in the department or facility in order to assist the supervisor when needed
- Must be able to accomplish various jobs correctly and efficiently
- Must be flexible to learn new positions and duties as the need becomes available
- Must have good communication skills to help orientate new employees to the jobs
- Must adapt to new positions quickly and to new situations in all the areas
- Must be able to visually verify information, often in small print
- Must be able to participate as a member of the Team
- Must be able to participate in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies
- Must be able to coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members
- Must be able to attend appropriate team meetings
- Must be able to foster strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues
- Must be able to accept responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness
- Must be able to bring areas lacking cohesiveness to the attention of the team leader
- Must be able to work with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues
- Must be able to actively look for ways to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization
- Must be familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies)
- Must understand the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems
- Must be able to consider the impact of individual actions on the systems
- Must be able to communicate concerns and improvement ideas
- Must be able to use appropriate footwear, hearing protection and other protective equipment as needed or required
Desired Qualifications
- Preference for poultry or food processing organization
- High School Diploma or GED
