Job Summary
Supervise swimmers, enforce pool rules, and respond calmly to emergencies while leading practices for assigned age groups. Focus on technique, endurance, and teamwork to help young athletes build skills, confidence, and sportsmanship within a safe, inclusive environment. Maintain clear communication regarding progress, schedules, and goals while collaborating with the Head Coach and staff to align training plans. Attend coaches' meetings and assist with special events as needed. Ensure all duties are performed with CPR, First Aid, AED, and Lifeguarding certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
- Current Lifeguarding and/or Coaches Safety certification
- Strong ability to build positive relationships with swimmers, parents, and staff
- Excellent interpersonal skills with patience and professionalism in a high-volume environment
- Ability to swim proficiently and perform rescues in various conditions
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Remain alert and attentive at all times with no lapses in consciousness
- Hear noises and distress signals in and around the pool area
- Communicate clearly with patrons, staff, and emergency personnel
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed for rescues or equipment handling
- Have vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus
