Job Summary
Support the development of the swim team program by engaging students and members in meaningful ways that promote trust and communication. Mentor fellow coaches and maintain connections with swimmers, family members, and parents. Design and implement practice sessions that focus on competitive swimming skills and foster a positive environment through goal setting and reinforcement. Maintain accurate records of attendance and evaluation of team members, while ensuring timely preparation for practices and swim meets.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18
- Three years of competitive swimming coaching and/or instructional experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledgeable in a variety of techniques; flexible, patient, enthusiastic, and organized
- Ability to complete CPR, First Aid, Lifeguarding, Coaches Safety Training certifications within six months of employment
- Vision requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Multi-lingual skills
- YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification
