Job Summary
Assist the Lead Site Swim Coach in administering the YMCA youth competitive swim team year-round program by preparing daily practice plans and providing technical instruction to improve swimming skills. Serve as secondary assist to lifeguards during coaching sessions and perform emergency services when necessary. Build relationships with swimmers and parents, encourage involvement, and refer students to other aquatics programs. Maintain attendance and progress records, attend staff meetings, and follow all YMCA safety policies and emergency procedures. Attend home and away swim meets, organize class equipment, and supervise assigned class aides. Requires CPR, AED, First Aid, STSC certification, and a clear background check.
Required Qualifications
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
- AED certification
- Basic First Aid certification
- STSC certification
- clear background check with USAS Athlete Protection
- swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards
- At least 18 years of age
- reliable transportation to all meets
