Job Summary
Swim Teacher needed at Ashbourne Leisure Centre (part-time). Deliver swimming lessons to customers of all ages and abilities, ensuring learners feel supported and achieving their goals. Role includes potential Lifeguard duties between lessons and assisting with administration. Training and development opportunities provided. Key responsibilities include teaching to the Leisure Centre’s swimming lesson programme, communicating progress to parents/guardians, supervising pool safety, and supporting office tasks. Requires NPLQ or equivalent and Level 2 swimming teaching qualification, DBS check, strong communication, and a customer-focused mindset. Flexible, team-oriented candidate with genuine enthusiasm for the leisure industry and ability to work across the organisation.
Required Qualifications
- NPLQ qualification or equivalent (training can be provided)
- Level 2 swimming teaching qualification (training can be provided)
- DBS check
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to deal with children and their parents
- Well developed interpersonal skills
- Team orientated approach, able to work across organisation boundaries
- Able to work flexibly and understand instructions from managers
- Demonstrated passion and energy for the leisure industry
