Job Summary
AVAC Swim School is hiring a Swim School Teacher to foster a love of swimming in children. The role emphasizes teaching swimming progressions, water safety, and child development within a supportive, playful environment. Responsibilities include working with kids across shallow and deep water, maintaining composure and professionalism, communicating effectively with children at eye level, and supporting kids in various water settings. Training is provided on the school’s award-winning skills progression and philosophy. Certifications required or pursued include CPR/AED within 30 days and Lifeguard certification within 6 months. Weekend availability and successful background checks are required. Compensation ranges from $17.55 to $20.00 per hour, with opportunities for advancement.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain CPR/AED Certificate within 30 days
- Ability to obtain Red Cross Lifeguard certificate within 6 months (Shallow Water Lifeguard acceptable)
- Ability to pass a background check and California’s child care registry, Guardian.
