Job Summary
Instruct swim lessons under the YMCA swim lesson program and create a welcoming, nurturing environment for all students. Ensure safety of all class participants, maintain rosters and attendance, track progress with skill assessments, issue certificates, and communicate progress to parents. Enforce safety policies, respond to emergencies using proper procedures, attend trainings, and uphold YMCA values and leadership competencies while delivering high-quality aquatic instruction across all lessons.
Required Qualifications
- MANDATORY CERTIFICATIONS: Current American Safety & Health Institute or American Red Cross or American Heart Association BLS for the Professional Rescuer
- Standard/Community First Aid certifications
- Emergency Oxygen Administration.
- YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Certification or ARC Water Safety Instructor
- American Red Cross (ARC) or YMCA Lifeguard Training, preferred
- RELATED EXPERIENCE: Experience instructing swim lessons or coaching aquatic programs.
