Job Summary
Instructs swimming lessons per YMCA guidelines, prepares lesson plans, and provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swim classes. Cultivates positive relationships with participants, volunteers, members, and colleagues; communicates aquatics program information and schedules; maintains attendance and progress records; follows all safety, policies, and procedures; completes incident/accident reports; organizes class equipment; trains and supervises class aides; performs additional duties as assigned. Training and certifications include YMCA Swim Instructor certification (or equivalent), CPR/AED/First Aid/Emergency Oxygen, and required safety trainings (CAP/BBP). Must be at least 16 years old and able to work in a YMCA facility environment. Location: Georgetown, SC.
Required Qualifications
- YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications
- Complete all assigned Redwoods trainings (CAP, BBP, etc.)
- At least 16 years of age
