Job Summary
Instructs swimming lessons per YMCA guidelines with prepared lesson plans, builds positive relationships with members, volunteers, and families, communicates aquatics program information and schedules, maintains records (attendance, progress reports), adheres to safety and emergency procedures, completes incident/accident reports, organizes equipment, and supervises class aides; requires YMCA Swim Instructor certification (or equivalent) and CPR/AED/First Aid/Emergency Oxygen, plus Redwoods trainings; age 16+; operates in Myrtle Beach YMCA environment.
Required Qualifications
- YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent
- Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards
- At least 16 years of age
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications required
- Complete all assigned Redwoods trainings (CAP, BBP, etc.)
