Job Summary
Teach swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety to students of varying abilities while assessing progress and adjusting lesson plans accordingly. Monitor students to prevent accidents, identify and correct improper techniques, and implement ground rules for each class. Assist experienced swimmers to enhance their abilities and maintain proper equipment care alongside accurate record keeping. Communicate student progress with parents and complete mandatory two to three hours of administrative duties weekly for registration and fee processing. Requires CPR/First Aid certification, strong swimming skills, and the ability to remain in the water for the majority of the shift.
Required Qualifications
- Strong swimming skills: min. 25 yard Freestyle/25 yard Backstroke
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Ability to remain in water for majority of shift
- Ability to adjust to different learning styles and methods
- Willingness to learn group management strategies
- Passionate and enthusiastic
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Team-oriented, with a collaborative attitude and a customer-service mindset
- Mandatory 2-3 hours of adminstrative duties each week ensuring efficient and accurate athlete registration, fee processing, and office coordination
