Job Summary
Teach swimming classes under YMCA guidelines, prepare lesson plans, and provide direct leadership and motivation for students in swim programs. Build positive relationships with participants and families, communicate program schedules, maintain attendance and progress records, follow all safety and emergency procedures, and assist in supervising class aides. Travel with portable pool across Williamsburg County as part of duties; required certifications and ongoing safety trainings are specified.
Required Qualifications
- YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications required
- Complete all assigned Redwoods trainings (CAP, BBP, etc.)
