Job Summary
Teach swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, prepare and follow lesson plans, and support participants in achieving their goals. Build positive relationships with volunteers, members, and families; convey information about aquatics programs and schedules; maintain attendance and progress records; follow all YMCA policies and safety procedures; organize and put away class equipment and supervise class aides. Requires YMCA Swim Instructor certification (or equivalent CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen), and completion of the Intro to the Y’s Cause and Culture, Living our Cause & I Hear you training within 30 days. Employment is part-time at the Northwest Cobb YMCA in Cobb County, GA, with a pre-employment background check and eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- At least 16 years of age
- YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications required
- Intro to the Y’s Cause and Culture, Living our Cause & I Hear you
- Background check and screening requirements per company policy
- Ability to life equipment and assist children as needed
