Job Summary
Instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents, then evaluate their progress and complete required paperwork. Communicate student development with parents and caregivers after each 30-minute lesson. Maintain pool equipment, manage lane lines and class materials, and perform light cleaning duties as needed. Attend occasional mandatory workshops and in-service training outside regular hours. Fulfill other duties assigned by the employer.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work with children
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification class
- Ability to perform job functions in a warm, humid setting and chlorinated pool
- Ability to lift
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to demonstrate curriculum skills
- Ability to perform in-water rescues
