Job Summary
Instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. Educate students on safety rules to prevent accidents and evaluate their progress while completing required paperwork. Communicate student development and celebrate accomplishments with parents and caregivers after each 30-minute lesson. Interact with guardians regarding activities and resolve challenges using problem-solving skills. Maintain pool equipment storage, place lane lines, and perform light cleaning duties such as window washing or deck mopping. Attend occasional mandatory workshops and fulfill other assigned duties. Work part-time year-round with a set weekly schedule, ending weekday lessons at 8:00 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work with children
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification class
- Ability to perform job functions in a warm, humid setting and chlorinated pool
- Ability to lift
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to demonstrate curriculum skills
- Ability to perform in-water rescues
