Job Summary
Execute daily brief-related tasks covering flavour selection, evaluation, and application development for baked and sweet goods projects. Serve as the technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, and customers, leading flavour evaluations and selecting optimal solutions based on regulatory, cost, and performance requirements. Coach and train technicians while maintaining a safe, clean lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies. Lead complex product development from conceptualization through commercialization and manage end-to-end flavour performance data capture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemisty or a related science field.
- 10–12 years of experience in Bakery & Confectionery within FMCG, New Product Development, or food/flavours manufacturing environments.
- Strong technical expertise in Sweet Goods applications, particularly Bakery & Confectionery (Cookies, Cakes, Biscuits, Crackers, Rusk, Candy, Toffee, Jelly, Chewing Gum), including ingredients, formulations, processing, and manufacturing operations.
- Hands-on experience working with customers in manufacturing environments, including leading technical discussions, troubleshooting, plant visits, and project execution.
- Proven ability to lead complex product development projects from concept to commercialization, with strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Solid understanding of raw materials, ingredient functionality, storage, distribution, and product stability.
- Working knowledge of flavour interactions and performance in food systems, with the ability to recommend appropriate flavour modifications.
- Experience leading, coaching, or supervising technicians and technologists.
- Savvy communicator with collaboration and influencing skills.
- Strong competencies in customer focus, prioritization, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to adjacent application categories such as Healthcare and Beverages is advantageous.
