Job Summary
Assist the cargo boatman with daily set-up and take-down of the river camp and manage other logistical duties while riding on the cargo raft. Work collaboratively with the team to implement logistical aspects of trips, ensuring pack-up and clean-up provide guests a safe, meaningful, and memorable experience. Engage positively with guests to meet their expressed and unexpressed needs, while professionally representing ROW's mission and adhering to all policies outlined in the Guide Manual. Maintain equipment and facilities, acting as a steward of the natural world by following Leave No Trace practices. This role involves physically demanding work in whitewater-filled river canyons, offering a summer opportunity to learn professional outdoor leadership and interact with people from around the world.
Required Qualifications
- Legally allowed to work in the United States
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Physically fit, able to work long hours in the field and lift and carry heavy objects over awkward terrain
- A positive, supportive team player
- Willing and eager to interact positively with a range of age groups, from small children to seniors
- Ability to follow ROW's drug-free and tobacco free workplace policy
Desired Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR training preferred
