Job Summary
Oversee corporate legal billing, outside counsel spend, and vendor management while establishing standardized workflows and governance structures. Drive operational excellence across compliance, regulatory oversight, and litigation adjudication by coordinating settlements and enforcing adherence to federal and state regulations. Build scalable systems for entity management, intellectual property protection, and cross-functional collaboration with ARCs, Finance, and General Counsel to ensure the department operates as a strategic, business-focused function. Manage legal spend, optimize dispute resolution processes, and support executive leadership with risk identification and operational reporting.
Required Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- 8–15+ years of legal experience
- significant emphasis on legal operations, corporate legal management, or in-house counsel roles
- Demonstrated experience building systems, processes, and governance structures within a legal department
- Background in compliance, commercial litigation, vendor management, and corporate law
- Experience in private lending, financial services, fintech, or alternative finance
- Proven ability to manage outside counsel and control legal spend
- Strong project management skills with big-picture operational thinking and attention to detail
- Experience supporting senior leadership in an operational, deputy, chief of staff, or business management capacity
- U.S.-based
- strong working knowledge of U.S. federal and state legal and regulatory frameworks
- Stable, reliable internet connection

Desired Qualifications
- Active bar membership in good standing preferred
- Experience in private lending, financial services, fintech, or alternative finance strongly preferred
- Financial services, commercial lending, private lending, banking, fintech, specialty finance, mortgage lending, or other highly regulated industries
