Job Summary
Oversee credit risk management at a Chicago-based community bank: develop and implement credit policies and risk strategies to minimize bad debts, lead the credit approval process to ensure loans meet lending criteria and credit quality standards, manage the credit risk assessment team, design effective credit monitoring systems, collaborate with senior management to align department goals with institutional strategy, and develop training programs to elevate risk assessment capabilities while ensuring regulatory compliance and high credit quality across the loan portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or related field
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 9+ years of progressive credit management experience in financial institutions
- at least 5 years at a senior leadership level
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and expectations related to credit risk management
- Experience with credit portfolio management technology and analytics platforms
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, particularly with senior executives and Board members
