Job Summary
Suzuki Strings Instructor needed for middle school program; responsibilities include teaching small group lessons and ensembles, preparing students for performances and NYSSMA Solo Festivals, implementing Suzuki method instruction, developing music literacy components, collaborating with enrichment teachers and operations staff, designing assessments, and supporting daily school duties such as test proctoring and curriculum development. Requires proficiency up to Suzuki Book 3 (violin/viola/cello) and Book 1 (double bass), ability to read Treble/Alto/Bass Clefs, strong classroom management, effective communication with students, families, and colleagues, and participation in annual orientation/training. Starting salary range is $50,000 to $64,700 (full-time equivalent, prorated for part-time); benefits include generous leave, health/dental/vision, retirement plan, and professional development. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Music in Music, Music Education or Performance
- Knowledge and experience with the Suzuki Method
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
