Job Summary
Drive product sustaining efforts from concept through implementation, managing engineering releases and driving improvements in performance, cost, and manufacturability. Coordinate Engineering Drawing Release Notices, manage business system changes, and oversee non-production part requests to ensure projects stay organized. Transform concepts into robust engineering solutions using SolidWorks and 2D drafting tools, while designing and executing validation tests for performance and compliance. Analyze test data to implement design improvements and apply Lean principles to eliminate waste. Research qualified suppliers and incorporate customer feedback into product enhancements. Collaborate with Design Engineering teams to solve complex design challenges and implement engineering changes to existing and new products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- 3+ years' experience working in an engineering and manufacturing environment
- 3+ years' experience in solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
- Product Data Management (Solidworks PDM or Windchill preferred)
- Strong understanding of: GD&T and tolerancing analysis, materials and manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA principles
- Background in lean/continuous improvement environments
- Passion for high-performance engineered products
- Experience in rail, transit, braking systems, or industrial components (preferred)
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage your time effectively
- Experience with Oracle or other similar ERP systems
