Job Summary
Sustainability Technician role supporting Icy Strait Point’s sustainability initiatives across on-site operations and employee housing. Responsibilities include recycling, composting, waste diversion, education, data tracking, and community engagement; collect recyclables and compost from employee housing; manage on-site composting; track and report metrics; monitor wildlife activity; recruit volunteers; assist with sustainability projects; support employee thrift store and garden maintenance; create communication materials for events; contribute ideas to improve sustainability practices; collaborate with community partnerships and events.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in sustainability, environmental science, or a related field preferred
- Demonstrated interest in environmental stewardship and community engagement
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable engaging with employees, students, and community members
- Basic recordkeeping and reporting skills
