Sustainability Specialist

Job Summary
Sustainability Specialist responsible for supporting the company’s ESG data management, reporting, and climate initiatives. You will ensure accuracy and transparency of ESG data (including Scope 3 accounting), assist in implementing sustainability measures and disclosures in line with reporting standards, coordinate cross-functional efforts to embed sustainability into operations, and contribute to audit readiness and data-driven decision-making. Responsibilities include collecting and validating ESG KPIs, driving Scope 3 data processes, improving ESG methodologies and controls, supporting sustainability disclosures and regulatory reporting, benchmarking performance, developing climate targets and decarbonization actions, promoting sustainability awareness through training, and partnering with site teams to improve sustainability outcomes. The role requires collaboration with the Sustainability Manager, proficiency in ESG standards, data analysis skills, and fluency in German and English.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration (with a focus on sustainability), Energy & Resource Technology, or a related field
- 3 years of relevant sustainability experience in industrial and international business environments
- Strong understanding of ESG reporting standards, frameworks, and regulations (e.g. TCFD, GRI, ESRS, GHG Protocol, SBTi, CDP, EU Taxonomy)
- Experience with Scope 1, 2, and Scope 3 emissions methodologies, data collection, calculations, performance tracking and action plans; experience with Product Carbon Footprints (PCF) is an advantage
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with ownership and proactive problem-solving
- Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
