Sustainability Program Manager

Job Summary

Oversee portfolio planning, program controls, and prioritization processes for capital projects and strategic investment programs across the NY region. Define governance structures, manage risk and change controls, and establish standardized delivery frameworks tailored to client requirements. Lead a small team of program management professionals while acting as a senior, client-facing advisor to shape strategic decisions and influence stakeholders. Engage cross-functional teams including real estate, design, construction, and finance functions to drive benefits realization and operational investment decisions. Provide executive-ready reporting on progress, risk, and recommended actions using quantitative data to inform capital planning. Support the growth and capability building of the wider NY PM team and contribute to business development as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience delivering complex programs in the built commercial real estate environment
  • Experience with managing a program of connected projects successfully with a collective value in excess of $50M
  • An articulate leader with business insight to balance commercial objectives against program compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of program controls, portfolio management, and structured PMO methodologies
  • Experience with developing and implementing governance frameworks and program execution strategies
  • Highly competent with data, analytics, and program information systems

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting sustainability or Net Zero (NZ)–aligned initiatives — such as energy programs, decarbonization roadmaps, carbon‐impact analysis, or sustainability-focused investment prioritization
  • Familiarity with NZ concepts
