Job Summary
Lead local sustainability compliance at Drax Biomass pellet plants by actively participating in internal and external third-party audits. Conduct in-woods field inspections, source desk reviews, and Rapid Risk Assessments to ensure feedstock production adheres to Best Management Practices and certification requirements. Engage with the forest industry, SFI Implementation Committees, and local conservation partners while serving as the sustainability point of contact for fibre procurement. Facilitate supplier questionnaire reviews to align sustainability expectations and support the certification program to maintain certificate standing. Assist the Sustainability Manager in providing critical information for Environmental, Social, and Governance annual reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry or a related field in Natural Resources
- Applied knowledge of forest management, forest sourcing, or natural resource management
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Collaborative abilities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with forest certification
- Experience with 3Log and/or other data management systems
- Familiarity with ArcGIS
