Job Summary
Lead local sustainability compliance at Drax Biomass pellet plants by actively participating in internal and external third-party audits. Conduct in-woods field inspections and source desk reviews, including Rapid Risk Assessments, to ensure feedstock production adheres to Best Management Practices and certification requirements. Collaborate with the forest industry, SFI Implementation Committees, and local conservation partners while serving as the sustainability point of contact for the fibre procurement team. Facilitate supplier questionnaire reviews and support certification program activities to maintain certificate standing. Assist the Sustainability Manager with data for Environmental, Social, and Governance reporting. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Forestry or Natural Resources and experience with forest certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry or a related field in Natural Resources
- Applied knowledge of forest management, forest sourcing, or natural resource management
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as collaborative abilities
Desired Qualifications
- experience with forest certification
- Experience with 3Log and/or other data management systems
- Familiarity with ArcGIS
