Job Summary
Lead local sustainability compliance at Drax Biomass pellet plants by actively participating in internal and external third-party audits. Conduct in-woods field inspections, source desk reviews, and Rapid Risk Assessments to ensure feedstock production adheres to Best Management Practices and certification requirements. Engage with the forest industry and local conservation partners while serving as the sustainability point of contact for the fibre procurement team. Facilitate supplier questionnaire reviews to align sustainability expectations and support the certification program to maintain certificate standing. Assist the Sustainability Manager with critical information for Environmental, Social, and Governance reporting. This role supports Drax's goal of becoming a world leader in sustainable biomass sourcing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry or a related field in Natural Resources
- Applied knowledge of forest management, forest sourcing, or natural resource management
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as collaborative abilities
Desired Qualifications
- experience with forest certification
- Experience with 3Log and/or other data management systems
- Familiarity with ArcGIS
