Job Summary
Sushi Chef I prepares and serves traditional sushi dishes, focusing on high-quality ingredients, precise knife work, and adherence to portion size, presentation, and food-safety guidelines. Responsibilities include cutting, slicing, and filleting various fish and vegetables; inspecting produce and seafood quality; preparing sushi according to established standards; maintaining a clean, contamination-free work area; sterilizing utensils; reporting equipment issues; and engaging with customers to ensure a valued dining experience. Encourages teamwork and upholds company mission and values while handling busy periods with composure.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months in the food service industry
- sushi rolling experience preferred
- Valid food handler’s license
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- The ability to stand for long periods of time
- The ability to work under pressure with sound judgement
