Job Summary
Skilled Sushi Cook responsible for preparing ingredients, rolling sushi, maintaining food safety, following recipes and presentation specifications, maintaining a prep list, following FIFO for freshness, assisting in inventory and receiving/storing deliveries, and ensuring sanitation and hygiene in a fast-paced kitchen. Must have 1-2 years of sushi experience, basic knife skills, and the ability to work under pressure while standing for long periods. This full/part-time role is based in Toronto, Canada, with hourly wage of CAD 21. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Culinary diploma is an asset; availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays required. AI-assisted screening may be used as part of the recruitment process.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years cooking experience with Sushi in a fast-paced restaurant, quick service or event/ catering environment
- Culinary diploma/degree is an asset
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
- Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Able to spend 100% of the time standing
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Available weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
