Job Summary
The Safety & Wellness Caseworker will provide comprehensive, culturally appropriate client-centered case management for Survivors of Torture (SOT), including eligibility screenings, enrollment paperwork, service plan development, and coordination with community resources. Responsibilities include conducting social and legal assessments, coordinating benefits, making appropriate referrals, ensuring linguistic accessibility, maintaining case notes, preparing donor reports and funding proposals, and participating in program meetings and teamwork within IRC’s Safety & Wellness program. The role involves a hybrid work arrangement including office, remote, and field time within the service delivery area, with potential weekend/evening hours and ability to lift 35-50 pounds as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Social Work or similar field strongly preferred; comparable related work experience may be substituted
- 2+ years of case management experience in a social services environment or related work experience
- Case management and/or victims assistance experience preferred
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
- Public speaking/presentation experience preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate and work as a team member with diverse partners, clients and community members
- English written and spoken proficiency; bilingual ability preferred (Spanish, Dari, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, French or other refugee/immigrant language used in Arizona)
- Valid driver’s license, active insurance, access to reliable transportation, ability to travel throughout the service area
- Fingerprint clearance card eligibility
- Cross-cultural understanding and strong communication skills
