Job Summary
Surveyor I position involves performing conventional surveying practices under supervision, developing skills to ensure compliance with marine classification standards. Responsibilities include conducting routine surveys on vessels and structures, preparing accurate inspection reports, and maintaining organized survey files. Candidates should possess qualifications in engineering or marine studies, proficiency in English, and relevant certifications. The role requires physical strength, the ability to work at heights, and familiarity with safety and environmental management systems.
Required Qualifications
- Qualifications from a tertiary institution in engineering or physical science (minimum two (2) years program)
- Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant seagoing experience as a certificated ship officer
- Proficiency in the English language commensurate with statutory certification and services
- Appropriate certification and/or licenses in areas of specialization
Additional Requirements
- Pre-employment physical examination is mandatory where allowed by local laws
- Annual physical recertification required where allowed by local laws
