Job Summary
Lead and perform all survey operations for open pit mining activities, including establishing, maintaining, and verifying survey control points and site benchmarks. Support ore control, drill and blast, excavation, and mine development through accurate field layout and topographic, progress, and as-built surveys. Calculate material movement and stockpile volumes, maintain site records and databases, and locate underground services to issue dig permits. Collaborate with Engineering, Geology, and Operations teams to ensure safe, efficient mine planning. Requires 1-3 years of open-pit surveying experience, proficiency in surveying techniques, and a valid driver's license. Reports to Senior Mine Engineering at Andean's Soledad Mountain Project in Kern County, California.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an open-pit or quarry surveyor
- A demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of surveying in an open pit environment
- A demonstrated meticulous approach to procedures, mark-ups in the field, and recording of data
- Driver's license
- High School diploma or GED
