Job Summary
Conduct geometric layout, control, and stakeout computations for construction projects using specialized equipment, CAD/Drafting software, and Robotic Total Stations. Collect field survey data for mapping, engineering, and construction purposes, then process and draft final project documents. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and developers to ensure work aligns with contract plans while managing multiple ongoing projects simultaneously. Maintain safe work practices across diverse field environments and travel to sites throughout New England and New York. Perform tasks requiring independent problem-solving, critical thinking, and high attention to detail in a challenging work environment.
Required Qualifications
- ten plus years of experience within the construction industry
- strong technical skills
- high attention to detail
- solid understanding of geometry and mathematics
- high level of proficiency in both their verbal and written communications
- ability to speak professionally with both customers and the various stakeholders on a project
- demonstrated ability to adapt to competing priorities and meet deadlines in this changing environment
- ability to work independently
- ability to safely travel to and traverse construction sites
- ability to maintain safe work practices in all environments
- capability of performing the physical work in the field this role requires
- in-depth experience with the construction industry
- familiarity with survey principles and techniques
- proficiency in takeoff, arithmetic, layout, measurement, and differential leveling
- baseline technological familiarity
- ability to operate Robotic Total Stations, data collectors, auto levels, laser levels, and GPS survey units
- Familiarity with Trimble Survey Equipment
- educational backgrounds in Land Surveying and/or Civil Engineering Technologies, or the equivalent job experience to a field-specific Bachelor's degree
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- ability to quickly learn and thoroughly understand the details of a project
- attention to detail to keep detailed field notes on their stakeout activities
- assignments throughout New England and New York
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed Land Surveyors
- Consideration will also be given to discipline-related certifications such as OSHA30
