Survey Technician

Job Summary
Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys while performing in-office and field tasks associated with land surveying projects. Review and process field data, prepare field notes, and maintain records. Execute manhole and utility inspections, communicate with contractors and the Iowa One Call System, and follow complex workflows as directed by the PLS or OM. Utilize hand tools like shovels and axes for moderate physical work in all weather conditions. Requires a valid driver's license, knowledge of survey calculations, and 3+ years of land surveying experience. Training in Civil3D and best practices is provided by veteran staff.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of survey calculations, techniques, and procedures
- Valid driver's license
- Associate degree preferred but not required
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in land surveying is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to follow directions
