Job Summary
Provide Construction Survey support to the PC and Project Survey Manager; assist drone pilots with inspecting equipment and completing pre and post flight checklists; calibrate survey instruments, review computations, prepare drawings, and provide technical support. Your work will ensure the accurate layout of construction work, data accuracy, and efficiency of survey activities. Major responsibilities include supporting safety, quality, and environmental programs, recording field data per specifications, performing Rod Person and Instrument Person duties, maintaining survey equipment, supporting Field Engineering and Field Supervision, developing survey data, performing calibration baseline checks, administering the survey work request program, and assisting with As-Built records and subcontract verifications.
Required Qualifications
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
- Multi-Disciplined Field Engineering Survey experience with earthwork, excavation, concrete, structural steel, mechanical, and piping, etc. installation layout and verification
- Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Incidents” safety program
- Knowledge of Bechtel quality standards
- Must have a solid record of successful project completion with little to zero rework
- Knowledge of construction survey principles
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment
- Initiative-taker, highly motivated, requiring little supervision
- Demonstrated experience with Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Digital Levels & GNSS survey systems, and Access field software
- Knowledge of data downloading
- Intermediate level use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be physically capable to participate in project walkdowns
- This project may have multiple work schedules that are subject to change and may require overtime/weekends/night shift
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior Bechtel Survey Mega-Project experience
- Working knowledge of Bechtel construction procedures
- CAD literate, experience w/CAD software a plus
- Experience with providing survey support for UAV/Drone operations
- Experience with 3D Laser Scanning hardware and software a plus
- Experience with Metrology field & office activities a plus
