Job Summary
Assist the Party Chief and Instrument Man with all field survey tasks, including manual work like brush clearing, tree cutting, and pipeline probing. Load and unload vehicles, boats, and off-road equipment, while cleaning and maintaining all gear and charging electronic devices daily. Ensure supplies are stocked and keep ice chests and water coolers filled for field use. Follow safety policies and work outdoors in varying weather on uneven terrain, often starting early. Swim ability is recommended for waterway work. This entry-level role supports the Morris P. Hebert, Inc. team in remote locations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with clarity and practical reasoning
- Ability to solve basic problems in routine field situations
- Physical fitness for walking, lifting, climbing, and manual tasks
- Capability of lifting/moving up to 100 pounds regularly
- Good vision: near, far, color, depth, and focus
- Comfortable working on waterways
- Swimming ability
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods
- Focus and adaptability in changing field conditions
- Availability for nominal 10 hours per day, Monday through Saturday
- Availability for overtime on short notice to meet project deadlines
- Willingness to perform manual fieldwork, including brush clearing, tree cutting, and pipeline probing
- Willingness to load and unload vehicles, boats, and off-road equipment
- Willingness to clean and maintain vehicles, boats, buggies, and survey equipment
- Willingness to ensure all necessary supplies are stocked and ready for each job
- Willingness to clean and charge all electronic equipment at the end of each workday
- Willingness to maintain clean and filled ice chests and water coolers for field use
- Willingness to follow all company safety policies and procedures
