Job Summary
Lead a survey team and manage projects from start to finish in residential/commercial land development and renewable energy sectors. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents; reviewing survey data with the latest technology and software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center); analyzing site conditions and legal documents (ALTA surveys, easements, condo documents); planning, organizing, and supervising survey crews, technicians, and office staff; providing oversight on large-scale ALTA surveys related to solar or wind power; guiding junior team members through permits, cut sheets, quantity estimates, and transmittals; organizing site plans and construction documents; attending paid trainings and industry conferences; serving as SME and mentor for staff training, career planning, and professional development; and recognizing staff through spot bonuses and peer recognition. Requirements include a Professional Survey License (PLS/PSM), 8+ years of survey experience, mentoring ability, and proficiency with Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Knowledge across Boundary/ALTA surveys, construction staking, GPS, legal descriptions, and related real estate documents is expected. The role emphasizes autonomous project management, collaborative teamwork, and a client-oriented approach within Atwell’s diverse project scopes.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Survey License (PLS, PSM)
- 8+ years of survey industry experience
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop a growing team
- Experience with Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
- Knowledge of Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Construction Staking, Leveling, Traversing, GPS, Data Collections, Legal Descriptions, Plan interpretations, and Real Estate Documents
