Survey Manager

Job Summary

Coordinate project setup and implement survey plans including scheduling, staffing, and documentation while overseeing field operations and conducting audits for efficiency and compliance. Establish and maintain control networks using traverse, level loops, and GNSS calibration methods to develop IFC models for machine control and execute construction layout activities across heavy civil, public works, and industrial projects. Capture accurate as-built data and topography using terrestrial scanning, aerial survey methods, and traditional techniques, then manage data storage, backups, and organization to prepare detailed reports. Lead and support field survey teams and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, and productivity while mentoring personnel and troubleshooting technical challenges in varying environmental conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Geomatics, or related field
  • 10+ years of construction survey experience
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel regionally
  • Willingness to work extended hours based on project demands
  • Physical capability to lift equipment and perform fieldwork in varying conditions
  • Travel to active construction sites and support survey operations across multiple project locations
  • Work in varying environmental conditions including outdoor and uneven terrain
  • Lift and transport survey equipment and materials as required
  • Perform fieldwork that includes walking, standing, bending, and climbing for extended periods
  • Work extended hours as required to support project schedules and deadlines

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Trimble Siteworks or Trimble Access
  • Advanced knowledge of GNSS technology, total stations, LiDAR, and drone-based data collection
  • Strong understanding of algebra and geometry for survey calculations
  • Advanced experience with CAD software, including Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
