Job Summary

Manage and mentor survey teams to execute projects from planning through delivery, overseeing design, coordination, data collection, and reporting while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and budget alignment. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable reports, implement quality control measures, and oversee data analysis to support strategic decisions. Recruit, train, and supervise staff, assign tasks, and maintain organized project documentation while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety. Monitor project budgets, obtain necessary permits, and address client requests or scope changes. Requires a Bachelor's degree in surveying or related field, utility industry experience, and professional licensure. Base pay in California is $140,000 to $170,000 per year.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., surveying, geomatics, geography, civil engineering, etc.)
  • Utility industry experience
  • Professional licensure or certification, if required by the industry or jurisdiction
  • Proven experience in surveying, with a track record of managing survey projects
  • Strong knowledge of surveying methods, equipment, and software
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and safety protocols
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
