Job Summary
Conduct field surveys by cutting brush, loading equipment, and laying out stakes with elevation and station marks. Operate survey instruments including Total Stations, GPS data collectors, levels, and receivers under crew chief supervision. Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and storage of all surveying tools while recording accurate field measurements and observations. Assist in establishing control points, conducting topographic and boundary surveys, and managing data entry into designated devices. Report equipment issues and adhere to safety protocols during outdoor work in various weather conditions. Maintain organized records and collaborate to ensure data completeness.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physical stamina and ability to carry and operate surveying equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years experience in Surveying and/Data Collection or related field experience
- Basic knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment
- Success in this job relies on your time management skills, organization, and positive attitude
- Learn and follow established protocols and procedures for instrument operation and data collection
- Ensure accurate and precise operation of surveying instruments during data collection
- Collaborate with survey crew chief or surveyor to ensure data accuracy and completeness

- Follow proper procedures for the cleaning, storage, and transportation of equipment
- Seek opportunities to enhance understanding of surveying principles techniques and equipment
- Participate in training and development activities as directed
