Survey Field Technician

Job Summary
Perform physically demanding tasks including packing heavy survey equipment, pounding hubs, clearing brush, and operating Trimble Robotic Total Stations, GN22 Receivers, and TSC5 Data collectors. Receive hands-on training in survey instruments, automated data collection tools, GPS equipment, and unmanned aerial systems to support data collection efforts. Follow all safety protocols, including AKS standards and state, federal, and site-specific regulations, while working in adverse weather conditions and difficult terrain. Occasionally travel out of town or overnight when needed to meet project deadlines. This role offers hands-on training and mentorship for eager learners within a collaborative team focused on land development, energy, and infrastructure markets.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Willingness to start work at 6:00 a.m.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Valid OR or WA driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a urinalysis drug screening
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to work in difficult terrain
- Ability to occasionally travel out of town/overnight
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, forest engineering, geomatics, or a related field
- Previous land surveying experience
- Backgrounds in forestry, wildland firefighting, or agricultural work
- Strong foundation in mathematics
