Job Summary
Survey Division Manager leading a land-development focused practice in the Charlotte/Fort Mill area. Owns both business development and people management for the survey division, overseeing multiple field crews and office staff, delivering boundary/topographic/ALTA-NSPS/construction staking projects, mentoring staff, and partnering with civil/planning teams to provide integrated land development solutions. Responsible for client engagement, proposal development, pursuit strategies, and scaling the survey group through standards, workflows, and best practices while maintaining quality, safety, schedule, and budget targets.
Required Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required
- SC PLS strongly preferred or clear path to licensure in defined timeframe
- 10+ years of experience managing survey groups with land development focus
- Proven business-development track record bringing in new clients and expanding existing relationships for survey/land development work
- Experience leading multiple field crews and office staff (hiring, performance management, team development)
- Strong technical background in boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking for land development
- Solid project management skills (scheduling, budgeting, resource planning, risk management)
- Clear, confident communication with internal teams and external clients
