Job Summary
Lead and oversee boundary, topographic, and property surveys while verifying measurements, calculations, and legal descriptions for accuracy. Manage multiple survey projects, schedules, budgets, and field personnel, coordinating with engineers, architects, clients, and stakeholders. Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and negotiate contracts, providing technical guidance on survey-related issues. Review deeds, titles, and boundary evidence to establish legal property lines, supporting client relationship management and business development efforts. Requires an active New York Professional Land Surveyor license, 15+ years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS. Salary ranges from $105,000 to $120,000 with benefits including 401(k) match, medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Active New York Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
- 15+ years of land surveying experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS
- Strong understanding of boundary surveys, construction layout, and legal survey documentation
- Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, and structural drawings
- Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of public and private utilities
- Ability to work independently and lead survey teams
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Flexibility for occasional overnight travel
