Job Summary
Lead field survey operations for Horrocks as Survey Crew Chief, performing topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS, and design-support surveys using conventional survey equipment and GPS. Produce accurate field notes and daily survey data, communicate with on-site client representatives, and relay needs to the office support team. Proficient with Trimble equipment; experience with Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and data management is required; lidar scanning and OPUS/point cloud experience are a plus. Roles involve working primarily in the field with the ability to handle office tasks and ensure field information is accurately transferred to the office. Must hold a valid driver’s license with MVR check as part of Horrocks’ fleet & safety requirements; familiarity with UDOT safety standards and related field procedures is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- MVR check—employment contingent upon fleet & safety requirements
- Experience in topographic surveys, transportation surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, land boundary surveys, subdivisions and records of survey, elevation certificates, construction staking, and data management
- Fluent with Trimble equipment; lidar scanning experience a plus
- Knowledge of UDOT and local safety standards
- Experience with Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Office, and MS Office; OPUS solutions and point cloud exposure a plus
- Experience using linework codes with Topo Surveys
