Job Summary
Survey Crew Chief oversees daily field crew operations to collect boundary, topographic, and construction stakeout survey data, trains instrument operators on Leica Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors, and GPS, and establishes construction stakeout points (curb and gutter, drop inlets, storm sewer, waterlines, structures). Maintains survey instruments and equipment, records clear field notes, and supports all-weather outdoor fieldwork. Must be able to work in a team and independently as needed, travel as required, and carry up to 50 lb of equipment while performing boundary and design staking projects.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of field survey experience
- Experience with Leica Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors and GPS preferred
- Experience with DOT transportation surveying a plus
- PLS/SI preferred but not required
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record required
- Must be willing to travel
- Must be able to carry up to 50 lb. of equipment over all types of terrain
