Survey Crew Chief

Job Summary
Oversee daily field crew operations to provide field data for boundary surveys, topographical and construction stakeout surveys; supervise and train staff to operate Leica Robotic Total Stations, GPS and data collectors; establish points for construction stakeout (curb and gutter, drop inlets, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, structures); perform routine maintenance of instruments; provide clear field notes and sketches; oversee maintenance of survey equipment and vehicles; able to work in a team environment and independently when needed. Must have high school diploma/GED with five years of field survey experience, travel willingness, valid driver’s license, and be prepared for all-weather outdoor outdoor work; AutoCAD experience and PLS/SI preferred but not required; travel on occasion.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of field survey experience
- Experience with Leica Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors and GPS preferred
- Experience with DOT transportation surveying a plus
- Ability to collect field data in an organized, neat and professional manner for various boundary, topographic, design and construction staking projects
- PLS/SI preferred but not required
- The ability to compute, process and map field data will provide the right candidate opportunity and advancement
- AutoCAD experience a plus
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record required
- Must be willing to travel on occasion
- Must be able to carry up to 50 lb. of equipment over all types of terrain
